The purpose of the plugins
Okay Net's browser extensions are designed to provide users with useful tools to run from within the browser, depending on the purpose of each extension.
Among other things, the supplements may be used for purposes such as:
Manage quick signatures, perform actions in the browser, control Shelly / Shelly devices, view device status, run timers, adjust web services, improve user experience, basic diagnostics, display local data, or additional auxiliary actions according to user settings.
Information collection
As a general rule, OK Net plugins are not designed to collect personal information from users.
The plugins may save local information in the user's browser only, for their proper operation, such as:
- Plugin settings.
- On or off mode.
- User preferences.
- User-defined device addresses, such as the IP address of a Shelly device.
- Display names entered by the user.
- Timer or scheduling settings.
- Signatures or templates that the user has saved in the plugin, when it is a signature plugin.
- Technical data required to run the plugin.
This information is generally stored in the user's local browser, using the browser's storage mechanisms, and is not transmitted to OK Net unless otherwise expressly stated or if the user sends it on his own initiative for support purposes.
Information that plugins do not collect
Unless otherwise explicitly stated in a particular add-on, OK Net add-ons do not collect, do not sell, or do not transmit:
- Browsing history.
- Personal content from websites that are not required for the plugin to work.
- Passwords.
- Credit information.
- Personal information for advertising purposes.
- Information for marketing tracking purposes.
- Usage data for sale to third parties.
Using browser permissions
Some extensions may request different browser permissions, depending on the technical need of each extension.
Permissions may include, among others:
storage
To save local settings of the plugin, such as user preferences, launch mode, signatures, device addresses, or scheduling settings.
tabs
To identify a relevant tab or open a specific page based on user action. This permission is not used to read browsing history.
activeTab
To perform a temporary action in the active tab, when the user activates the extension.
alarms
To perform scheduled actions, periodic checks, timers or automatic shutdown.
notifications
To display local notifications in the browser, such as a success message, error, timer expiration, or status change.
host permissions
To access certain sites or addresses required to run the plugin, such as a specific site, service, local device IP address, or API that the user has defined.
Okay Net strives to use only the permissions necessary for the plugin to function.
Plugins for controlling smart devices
In plugins designed to control smart devices, such as Shelly connected to a boiler, the plugin may communicate with the local device or with a relevant cloud service, depending on the settings selected by the user.
Possible actions may include:
- Reading the device status.
- lighting.
- Shutdown.
- Timer activation.
- Showing current status to the user.
- Sending a command that the user requested to be executed.
The plugin is not intended to control devices that have not been configured by the user.
Signature plugins and templates
In plugins designed for quick signing or inserting templates, the plugin may save signatures, texts, signature names, defaults, and user preferences.
This data is saved for reuse by the user, and is not intended to be sent to OK Net or third parties.
Extensions for services and websites
Some extensions may work with a specific website or service, such as Google Chat or similar services, depending on the purpose of the extension.
In these cases, access is limited as much as possible to the site or service required to operate the add-on, and the add-on is not intended to collect information from sites unrelated to its operation.
Transfer of information to third parties
Okay Net does not sell users' personal information to third parties.
Information may be transferred to a third party only when it is required for an action the user has requested, such as communicating with an external service, API, smart device cloud service, or web service that the extension is designed to work with.
Remote code
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, plugins are not intended to load or run remote JavaScript code from external servers.
Communicating with an API, local device, or cloud service to read data or send commands is not, in itself, considered remote code execution, as long as the extension does not download and run external code.
Information security
Okay Net is working to reduce the information stored and the permissions required in plugins.
However, the user is responsible for maintaining their work environment securely, including:
- Use a strong password.
- Maintaining secure browser access.
- Computer protection.
- Using a secure network.
- Update your browser and extensions.
- Securing smart devices connected to the network.
Saving and deleting information
Local information saved by the extension is retained in the user's browser as long as the extension is installed or as long as the user does not delete the data.
The information can be deleted by:
- Removing the extension from the browser.
- Clearing browser data.
- Reset the plugin settings, if available.
- Manually delete data within the extension, if possible.
User responsibility
The use of plugins is at the sole responsibility of the user.
The user is responsible for ensuring that the add-on is suitable for their needs, their work environment, their organization's policies, their browser settings, their devices, and the services they use.
The user is responsible for any action he takes using the plugin, including sending commands, activating devices, turning off devices, inserting signatures, changing settings, activating timers, or any other action.
Limitation of liability
The plugins can be used as is, without obligation of any kind.
Okay Net Computers, its employees, managers, agents or anyone on its behalf will not be liable for any damage, loss, malfunction, disruption, loss of information, damage to the computer, damage to the browser, device malfunction, unwanted action, activation or shutdown that was not performed, delay in performing an action, display error, incompatibility, security problem, connection problem, malfunction in an external service, network malfunction, or any other direct or indirect damage that may result from installation, use, non-use, reliance on or malfunction of the add-on.
In particular, in plugins that operate smart devices, including devices connected to a boiler, electricity, timers or other systems, the use is at the sole responsibility of the user. The plugin should not be considered a safety system, a monitoring system, an emergency system or a system that ensures proper operation in all situations.
The user is required to verify the actual status of the devices themselves and not rely exclusively on the plugin.
Okay Net does not guarantee that the plugins will operate without problems, without interruptions, without errors, in any browser, in any version, in any website, in any network, in any operating system or with any device.
Use of the plugins is on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without express or implied warranty, subject to any law.
Plugin changes
Okay Net may update, change, discontinue, remove or limit any plugin, feature or service related to plugins, at any time and without prior notice.
Extensions may stop working due to browser changes, Google Chrome policy changes, API changes, website changes, external service changes, security changes, network blocks, or any other technical changes.
Changes to this policy
Okay Net may update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use from time to time.
The date of the last update will appear at the top of this document. Continued use of the add-ons after the policy has been updated constitutes your agreement to the updated policy.
